Ticketing Questions

How do I purchase a ticket?

Ticket purchases may be made in person, by phone, or securely online. Gift Certificates are also available for purchase in person or over the phone.

Tickets cannot be reserved without payment, which must be received at the time of purchase.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Enlightened Theatrics accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express. Enlightened Theatrics reserves the right to hold patron Credit Card information for up to (1) week to ensure successful processing.

How do I recive my tickets?

Tickets purchased individually are held under the guest’s name for pick up at Will Call within 2 hours of performance time. Tickets purchased online may be printed at home.

Enlightened Theatrics does not send tickets via mail. To receive tickets in advance, please visit Enlightened Theatrics’ Box Office during operating hours.

Where can I buy tickets in-person?

Enlightened Theatrics’ Box Office is open 2 hour before showtimes on street level in Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre at:

You can also purchase tickets Monday through Friday 9-5pm at Enlightened Theatrics’ Administrative Offices, located at:

Does my child need a ticket?

Tickets are required for admission for all patrons above the age of 3. Out of respect to all patrons, children under 3 will not be admitted to performances that are not designed for children. Bringing infants to any performance is not prohibited, but discouraged.

What is the age limit for a Youth or Child ticket?

Children 12 years old and under are considered Youth or Child and are eligible for those price listings both online and at the box office.

Are there service and handling fees?

In order to maintain inexpensive ticket pricing, as well as help offset expenses related to Box Office hardware and software, Enlightened Theatrics reserves the right to charge a service fee to each sale. We make every effort to keep the fees as reasonable and as minimal as possible.

Does Enlightened Theatrics ever donate tickets to organizations?

Enlightened Theatrics always welcomes a donation request for tickets. Please send all donation requests to BoxOffice@EnlightenedTheatrics.org

Please note that due to licensing agreements, filling out the form does not guarantee your request will be honored, however, it does absolutely ensure it will be considered!

Refunds, Exchanges, and Discounts

What if I lose my ticket?

Please notify Enlightened Theatrics’ Box Office so that they may reprint your tickets and hold them at Will Call. 503.585.3427

When you receive tickets, please check them immediately to confirm your order is complete and accurate.

What happens when a show is cancelled?

Event cancellations due to inclement weather or other circumstances are rare. If an event is canceled, we will make every attempt to contact you to make alternative arrangements.

Enlightened Theatrics does not offer refunds once an event has started. If an event is canceled, Enlightened Theatrics will publish this information on EnlightenedTheatrics.org, Facebook, and/or contact patrons directly, and provide an exchange or full refund (to be determined by Enlightened Theatrics) for the amount that was paid for the ticket.

Service fees are NOT refundable. Please note that refunds must be explicitly requested within five (5) days of the announced cancellation to receive the refund.

If an event is not canceled, refunds will not be provided and attendance is expected. Tickets may be exchanged with 72-hour notice, pending availability.

Do you offer refunds and exchanges?

Tickets are non-refundable and credits will not be issued for unused tickets. Enlightened Theatrics will try to accommodate ticket exchanges up to 72 hours before your showtime; upgrade fees may apply.

Unused tickets may be donated to Enlightened Theatrics for tax credit. Donations may be arranged by phone or in person. 503.585.3427 x1

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes! Discounts may be offered for groups of 10 or more depending on availability and current policy.

Before the Show Begins

When should I arrive?

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled event time. The lobby is open one hour prior to curtain and the theatre is opened for seating approximately 20-30 minutes prior to curtain.

Where can I park?

Free 3 hour street parking is available surrounding the theatre (parking enforced Mon-Sat 8:00am-8:00pm). Free parking is also available in the Liberty St Parkade located on the corner of Ferry and Liberty Sts.

Please note: The on-site parking lot is reserved for various businesses Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:30pm.

What's the seating sitaution?

For the majority of performances, seating in Salem’s Historic Grand is separated into two price points, Reserved Seating ($26 for adults, $23.50 for seniors/veterans) and Preferred Seating ($30 for adults, $27.10 for seniors/veterans). $15 tickets are available in the Reserved Seating area for those with a student ID.

Guests requiring special seating consideration due to a medical condition or disability should contact the Box Office to make arrangements. All seating in Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre is ADA accessible.

The balcony is currently closed for all Enlightened Theatrics productions.

What happens if I show up late?

Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager/Usher at the first appropriate break that allows for the least disruption for the actors and audience. Latecomers will usually be seated in the back of the house and may move to their reserved seats at intermission. A limited number of latecomers can be accommodated.

Is the theatre wheelchair accessible?

Salem's Historic Grand offers two levels of seating, Orchestra and Balcony. Pricing for favorable seat selections on either level may change depending on individual show requirements and current policy. All pricing changes for a specific production will be listed when tickets for that production are made available for purchase.

Policies Inside the Theatre

Can I bring outside food in?

Outside food and beverage are prohibited in Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre. Concessions are available for purchase in the lobby and may be taken into the theatre.

Can I record or take photos of the performance?

Due to contract and licensing restrictions stipulated by various forms of artist representation, unauthorized use of recording equipment or photography is strictly prohibited at all performances.

This includes, but is not limited to cell phones with cameras, video cameras and audio recording devices. Enlightened Theatrics reserves the right to confiscate any and all devices and remove patrons in non-compliance with this policy.

Can I keep my phone on?

Due to the intimate and interactive nature of our events, unexpected lights and noise may be disruptive for other guests, as well as performers on stage, staff and volunteers. Out of courtesy and respect, we insist that all electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, watches, alarms, etc.) be turned off.

In-person conversation must be kept to a minimum and text messaging is highly discouraged.

What is "Salem For All!"?

Salem For All! consists of a group of interested citizens and a coalition of participating organizations in the community of Salem, Oregon. Our goal is to be a resource of valuable and meaningful experiences for members of the Salem community and providing free or low-cost tickets to people of low incomes.

These opportunities are developed to allow all individuals to partake in meaningful and fulfilling opportunities in Salem and the surrounding community. Many, but not all, of the opportunities listed by Salem For All! are designed to be accessed by holders of Oregon Trail (SNAP) cards as proof of low income.

In partnership with Salem For All!, Enlightened Theatrics is pleased to offer Oregon Trail (EBT) cardholders up to (2) tickets for $5 each to most events. Tickets must be purchased in-person at the Box Office with a valid photo ID.
Enlightened Theatrics and Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre are privately run facilities. We prohibit weapons and drugs of any kind, outside alcohol, food, coolers, etc. Anything that is not permitted on an airplane is strictly prohibited. Enlightened Theatrics reserves the right to refuse one’s admission or presence on Theatre grounds, or to require one already admitted to vacate the Theatre or Theatre grounds. As a patron and guest, you assume all liability as it pertains to risk and danger incidental to the performance and/or event whether occurring prior to, during or after said performance and/or event. You agree that Enlightened Theatrics and Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre Management, Staff, Agents, Performers, Patrons, Interns and Volunteers are not to be held responsible or liable for any injuries resulting from such causes. You further consent to the use of your image or likeness incidental to any display, transmission or reproduction of the event.
