What’s the seating situation?

All seating in Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre is at one price point. Students and youth under 18 receive a $5 discount. All seating in Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre is ADA accessible.

What happens if I show up late?

Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager/Usher at the first appropriate break that allows for the least disruption for the actors and audience. Latecomers will be seated in the back of the house and may move to their reserved seats at intermission. A limited number of latecomers can be accommodated.

Are there service and handling fees?

Do I get my money back if the show is cancelled?

Event cancellations due to inclement weather or other circumstances are rare. If an event is cancelled, we will make every attempt to contact you to make alternative arrangements. Enlightened Theatrics does not offer refunds once an event has started. If an event is cancelled, Enlightened Theatrics will publish this information on EnlightenedTheatrics.org, Facebook and/or contact patrons directly, and provide an exchange or full refund (to be determined by Enlightened Theatrics) for the amount that was paid for the ticket. Service fees are NOT refundable. Please note that refunds must be explicitly requested within five (5) days of the announced cancellation to receive the refund. If an event is not cancelled, refunds will not be provided and attendance is expected. Tickets may be exchanged with 72 hour notice, pending availability.

Can I bring outside food into the theatre?

Outside food and beverage are prohibited in Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre. Concessions are available for purchase in the lobby and may be taken into the theatre.

Can I record or photograph the performance?

Due to contract and licensing restrictions stipulated by various forms of artist representation, unauthorized use of recording equipment or photography is strictly prohibited at all performances. This includes, but is not limited to cell phones with cameras, video cameras and audio recording devices. Enlightened Theatrics reserves the right to confiscate any and all devices and remove patrons in non-compliance with this policy.

Can I keep my phone on?

Due to the intimate and interactive nature of our events, unexpected lights and noise may be disruptive for guests, as well as performers on stage, staff and volunteers. Out of courtesy and respect, we insist that all electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, watches, alarms, etc.) be turned off. Conversation must be kept to a minimum and text messaging is highly discouraged.

Do you ever donate tickets to organizations?

Enlightened Theatrics always welcomes donation request for tickets. Complete and submit the donations request form for consideration. Please note that due to licensing agreements, filling out the form does not guarantee your request will be honored, however, it does absolutely ensure it will be considered!
